Legal studies students participate in a mock trial experience.
Hundreds of practicing attorneys and sitting judges began their education at ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´. Your journey to joining them starts by enrolling in ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´'s legal studies program.
The legal studies major is the academic component of the pre-law experience at ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´. Through this program, you'll gain substantive knowledge about law within the context of society, politics, and the humanities.
ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´'s 3+3 Legal Education Accelerated Program (LEAP) lets you earn a law degree in six years while minimizing the cost of your education.
Courses within the curriculum emphasize analytical thought and effective communication for success in the legal field.
As a legal studies major, you are required to complete 36 credit hours of study, which boils down to eight required courses and four electives within the discipline. The program culminates in a Bachelor of Arts degree.
The legal studies program gives you a decided advantage for attending law school and pursuing advanced credentials to become a lawyer or judge. Graduates have also gone on to careers as:
“ As a first-generation college student, the values I learned in my time at ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ have been instrumental in developing me as a person and professional. ”
“ I have learned a lot about professionalism, leadership, and resilience at ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´, and I have been able to prepare for law school more than I have ever imagined. ”
